Meta Tags

You are able to set the text that displays in browser search results using the Meta Tag.

When browsers display your site in their search results, the meta tag displays as shown here.

This text is taken by default from the Summary field from the following types of pages:

  • Basic Content Page
  • News Articles
  • Person Profiles
  • Service Pages
  • Research Projects

We recommend using the default behavior and not changing the Description meta tag for these pages.

However, Landing Pages do not have a Summary field; a meta tag needs to be manually entered.

  • When creating a Landing Page roll over the right side of the screen to view the META TAGS information

  • Expand the META TAGS dropdown and enter in the description into the field.
