Purpose: Deadlines are designed to draw attention to time-sensitive events or actions, such as application submissions or registration cutoffs.

Limitations: Deadlines are not compatible with the Bedework calendaring system, which manages events with defined start and end times.
Creating a Deadline
To add a Deadline in Columbia Sites:

Log In: Access your website's administrative dashboard.

Navigate to Add Content:

Click on Shortcuts in the top menu.

Select Add Content.

Select Deadline: Choose the Deadline content type

- Complete Required Fields:

Deadline Name: Enter a concise title.

Summary: Provide a brief description (1–2 sentences).

Deadline Date and Time: Specify the exact end date and time.


Optional Fields:

Additional Content: Include any relevant details.

Location: Specify if applicable.

Registration Link: Add a URL for sign-ups or submissions.

Categories: Tag the deadline for organizational purposes.

Footer and Sidebar Details: Enhance the page layout with supplementary information.
Publishing Options:

Social Media Panel: Choose to display or hide sharing options.

Save: Once all fields are completed, click Save to publish the deadline.

Manual Management: Deadlines must be manually created and managed within the Columbia Sites platform.

Bedework Compatibility: As deadlines lack a start time, they cannot be managed within the Bedework calendaring system, which requires both start and end times for events.
