Basic Page
Definition
A Basic Page is a web page used to support static information.
Basic Pages allows content containers such as:
- Images
- Embed features
- Sidebars
Basic Pages do not offer:
- Page Sections
- Grid Widths
- Behaviors of a Landing Page
Usage and Specifications
Basic Pages can be used to document historical facts, mission statements or provide bullet points.
Common content features often appearing on a Basic Page include:
- Summary - The summary field should contain a brief and descriptive detailing of the content set to appear on a web page.
In general, a summary is one-to-two sentences or 180 characters in length.
(By default the text appearing within the Summary field will appear as meta description text within Google searches. For an improved SEO web ranking, it is recommended to provide a description within the Meta Tags field.)

How to Create a Basic Page
Content Managers must log into website:
- Click on Shortcuts
- Navigate to the Add Content tab
- Select the Basic Page option

- Fill in the Title Field
- Complete the Summary Field
Selecting the "Display Summary on Page" is optional.
If the checkbox is selected, the Summary will display on the page.
If the checkbox is deselected, the Summary will not display on the page.
Note: The summary information will appear within search engine results as meta description and is beneficial to a website's SEO performance.

- Add Featured Content; optional (e.g. Single Image, Image Carousel, Power BI, Video)
- Add Content (e.g. text, accordion, inline image, etc.)
- Add Footer/Footer Content; optional
- Add Sidebar Content; optional

Click the Save button
